Orders
We endeavour to do everything possible to accommodate your order however we work to a maximum number of cakes per week. It is wise to give as much notice as possible for your cakes - Usually 3 months notice for wedding cakes with less notice required during the winter months.
Pricing and Portions
All our cakes are bespoke and prices therefore vary greatly depending on the intricacy of design, size and flavor. Please contact us for an accurate quotation. The starting prices are intended as a guide and include plainly iced cakes with simple finishing designs. Portion sizes are classed as follows
Finger portions are classed as 1″ x 1″ x 4.5″ normal for wedding cakes, dessert portions are 1″ x 2″ x 4.5″ if your cake is being served as desert at your wedding. Please indicate which portion size you will require so that we can help you choose the correct sized cake.
Payment Terms
Wedding cakes
A £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order. The remaining balance is payable 28 days prior to delivery/collection of your cake. Payments can be made by Paypal, cash in person, by debit or credit card online or in person, or bank transfer. Please contact us for details.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BOOKINGS AND DATES ARE NOT SECURE UNTIL YOUR DEPOSIT IS PAID. WE WORK ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. TO ENSURE YOU SECURE YOUR DATE PLEASE ENSURE YOUR DEPOSIT IS PAID. DESIGN FEATURES CAN BE DISCUSSED AT A LATER TIME.
Wedding Consultations
We strive to ensure that our wedding cakes reflect your ideas and inspirations. Please bring you any pictures or drawings of design ideas you have to ensure we can create the perfect centre piece for your special day. Our consultations are free of charge and incorporated within our quotes once we have received a deposit to secure the date.
Tasting
All our cakes are specifically baked for the consultation. We will offer 3 flavours for tasting, any other flavours requested are subject to a charge.
Alterations
Where possible we will strive to accommodate any changes or alterations to your cake designs. However, this is discretionary, depending on lateness of the changes. Should the overall cost be affected, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
We respectfully ask that changes are made no later than six weeks prior to the delivery / collection date.
Delivery and Collection
We offer a free delivery service within 20 miles of our location in Hilgay – please indicate whether your cake will be delivered or collected on booking.
Weddings
Delivery and set up at your Venue are free within 20 miles of our location. For deliveries outside of our local delivery area we charge 40p per mile. We will liaise with your venue to ensure that we can set up your cake. If a member of concierge is not available to sign and accept delivery and responsibility of your centre piece, please arrange for someone of your choice to be present. Once the cake has been set up and signed for, we cannot accept any responsibility for any damage caused after we have left the venue.
Collection of Cakes (including Wedding Cakes)
Should you wish to collect your cake, we will provide you with full transport, assembly and storage instructions where required. Please note that once the cake has been collected, the client is responsible, Spotty Cake Tin will not liable for any damages thereafter.
Allergens and Storage Instructions
All our cakes are marked up with Allergen Information in compliance with the 2014 Food Standards Agency Requirements. The labels will be clearly displayed on the boxes with the relevant best before dates, storage information and Allergen info. Although great care will have been taken to prepare your cake, we cannot guarantee that our ingredients are free from Nuts, milk or gluten as we are not a free from kitchen.
Please ensure that you discuss any dietary requirements when you make your enquiry or during consultations.
Cancellations
All our deposits are Non Refundable. This is as recompense for any specialist tools or equipment that may have been purchased to make your design and also for orders turned away as a result of your booking.
If a Wedding Cake has been booked and is cancelled less than 6 weeks before the date due, then the full balance becomes payable. If cancelled with more than 6 weeks notice, the deposit only will be retained.
Customer Guarantee
We strive to ensure our customers are completely happy with their cakes. Should you be unhappy with the cake we will do everything we can to rectify the matter before the event. If you are still unsatisfied then we will refund the price of cake in return for the product uneaten.
In cases where the cake is partially eaten, return the remainder to us for inspection. Refunds or vouchers may be given at our discretion. Refunds or Vouchers for cakes not returned for inspection will not be offered.
It will be the responsibility of our clients to check their orders match the cake received.
Dietary Requirements
We are no longer able to supply cakes to clients with a dietary need. If you require a "Free From Cake, we would suggest you purchase from a specialist baker dealing only in Free From Desserts.
